Phenomenal day of sportfishing today (7/5/26) for our 25 anglers. We hooked well over 60 yellowtail and landed 20 – high casualties due to the area we were fishing and not fully leaning on what 30 lb test has to offer. You really have to turn those yellowtail heads!

If you’re coming out on one of our trips, our yellowtail tackle recommendations are a 30 lb and 40 lb outfit, a reel with enough drag, size 4/0 and 1/0 hooks, 8–10 oz sinkers, and a variety of yoyo irons and surface irons. Please leave the baitcasters at home – it’s tough watching anglers struggle with them after our briefings.
